Located in the Historic and Creative Districts of Downtown Steamboat Springs, Wild Horse Gallery of Steamboat Springs offers fine contemporary realism by local, regional and nationally known artists. Original oil paintings, pastels, watercolors, drawings, etchings, bronze sculpture, turned wooden bowls and limited edition prints on canvas give the discriminating collector a wide variety of exceptional artwork to choose from.



Shirley Stocks - Owner/Artist
Shirley Stocks, and her artist husband, Richard Galusha, own the Wild Horse Gallery. Shirley was born and raised in the Little Snake River Valley of Southern Wyoming and moved to Southern California in 1969 to begin her art education. She studied watercolor, architectural rendering, cartooning, stained glass, oil painting, drawing and pastels. She has worked for Riverhouse Editions where she also learned intaglio printmaking. Her landscapes and florals today include watercolor, pastels, oils, and intaglio prints.
Richard Galusha - Owner/Artist
Richard Galusha is co-owner of the Wild Horse Gallery with his wife Shirley Stocks. Richard was born in Casper, WY, but grew up on his family's ranch in West Texas where he developed a love and understanding for horses, which he has expressed in his art from a very early age. When he was thirteen his family, consisting of nine brothers and sisters, moved to Boulder, CO. After high school, he joined the Navy and traveled to the Far East, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. While in the Navy, Richard had a studio in the barracks on the island of Guam and completed many drawings and paintings of island and military life. After the Navy, Richard completed his BFA in Art at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. Richard's real love is painting in plein aire and portraits, as well as western genre. He enjoys painting the landscapes near his home in Hahns Peak, CO and taking painting trips with his wife and his dog Timber. He has shown in many local, regional and national shows and his work is private collections throughout the United States.
